After battling out 2 long and challenging sets of tennis against Gram, which I won 6-2, 6-1, I texted G to see what the plan was for the night. Well, she was sleeping and I did not hear back from her for another 3 hours. Once we connected, 10:30p, G told me about a party her friend was having in Braintree, which is about a 20 minute drive from my house. G picked me up around 11:30p and off we went! We arrived at the party address to see a single car in the driveway and no lights on inside the house. Turns out, we had the wrong night and that the party is actually tonight. Or, they just don’t like us very much and hid when they saw us pull in (ha). So, back into Boston we drove to meet up with Matt Lyons at a Southie bar called The Stadium to watch Mike Najarian’s band, Ratfynct, play their final song of the night. Najarian is also the drummer for an international touring band called State Radio, which is led by Chad from Dispatch. Mike was a few years older than me at the same high school growing up. This picture is of Mike’s kick drum, which he was borrowing from a friend. The artwork was done by another guy we grew up with, Matt Cully, and I was totally blown away by the detail.
